Can't they go to the hospital??? It means they can't even survive!
Immigrants' situation is not good in Japan, either. If they are illegal, they just send them back to their home country. There is a law suits that a Japan-born female Korean worker protested. Even though she has worked almost 30 years as a public servant, the officials denied her to rise some higher position. And the judge either. There are always stupid politicians anywhere.

even though i get frustrated sometimes with the u.s. government policies, i'm happy that it's being discussed.
is it even an issue in japan? is it something people are talking about or want to change? i wonder...
There has been an issue related to Korean Japanese after world war two. The new issue will be Philippine immigrants. The goverment has decided to accept them as medical workforce, in responce to the aging issue. I can't imagine what would happen, because I think Japan is like a monolingual/cultural society, and they are not used to deal with complicated multi-lingual/cultural situations...
